2025 Plumbing Apprentice Intake

Industrial plumbing involves large-scale systems, heavy-duty equipment, and complex processes.

As an industrial plumber, you’ll take on the critical role of installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fixtures, and plumbing systems that support essential water distribution and wastewater management.

Tasks Include:

  • Implement Safe Systems of Work including:
    • Personal Risk Assessments
    • Job Safety Environmental Analysis
    • Critical Risk Management
    • Team based risk assessments
  • Maintain Potable Water Systems including:
    • Routine Inspections and Periodic Maintenance
    • Installation of new Potable Water systems in variety of small and large bore pipe systems (Copper, HDPE, Stainless Steel)
    • Backflow prevention or small and large valves
    • Safety showers
  • Heated Water Services:
    • Installation/Replacement of Electrical Hot Water Systems
    • Trouble Shooting and Routine Inspections
    • Testing and setting of Thermostatic Mixing Valves
  • Stormwater and Drainage Systems
    • Sub-surface ground stormwater infrastructure
    • Above ground suspended pipework
    • Stormwater catchment and filter devices
  • Industrial Small and Large Bore Pipelines including:
    • HDPE Fusion (both Electrofusion and Butt Fusion)
    • DICL
    • U-PVC
    • Stainless Steel
    • Copper
  • Sanitary Sewer
    • Routine Maintenance and trouble shooting
    • Installation of soil and waste stacks including Fully Vented, Single Stack and Single Stack modified drainage principles
    • Installation of sewerage and effluent pumping equipment
    • Installing below-ground graded drainage systems
    • Suspended drainage principles
  • Roofing/Sheet Metal:
    • Sheel metal fabrication and object development
    • Replacement or installation of Roof and wall cladding and associated fixtures e.g. Skylights, Ventilation or Turbine Vent
    • Fabrication and installation of sheet metal flashing including box gutters, metal fascia’s and custom flashing
  • Water based Fire Protection Systems
  • Gas
    • Type A – Domestic and Approved Devices for LPG or NG
    • Type B – Industrial and Commercial Devices
    • Gas Storage infrastructure
    • Pressure reduction or relief components
  • Operate Machinery including Elevated Work Platforms, Excavations, Skid steers, Trucks
